The Maspalomas Dunes are avery large sand area, over 400 hectares, where the wind has created a desert-like landscape.
They are located in the tourist area of Maspalomas. The constantly changing landscape and offers spectacular views, especially at sunrise and sunset.

🄾How to Explore the Dunes

The entrance is near the Riu Palace Hotel t the Dune Interpretation Center. From here, a marked trail starts signposted path that allows you to cross the dunes without harming the environment.

The dunes are part of a protected nature reserve, hosting a fragile ecosystem. Among the attractions is the lagoon of La Charca, one small oasis where many migratory birds stop.

After the walk through the dunes, one can go and relax on the Maspalomas beach, a long stretch of sand that reaches as far as the Maspalomas lighthouse.

By car: they are easily reached by the GC-1 road. There are car parks near the promenade and the Hotel Riu Palace
By bus: several lines connect Maspalomas to other tourist resorts on the island.
On Foot: Ā the dunes can be reached by walking from the centre of Maspalomas or from the beach.
