EL ROQUE NUBLO

ROQUE NUBLO: THE SYMBOL OF GRAN CANARIA

The Roque Nublo is one of the most famous rocks in Gran Canaria. It is located in the centre of the island, in 1,813 metres high, and is visible from many points on the island. Declared Nature Park and Natural Monument, is an imposing volcanic rock, which has become the true symbol of the island.

📍How to get there

The most convenient starting point is the Llanos de la Pez car park. From there starts a moderate path which lasts approximately 1½ hours.

Alternatively, there are buses that take you directly to the entrance of the trail: shortening the journey time to approximately 30 minutes on foot.

⚠️ From 3 February 2025 to visit the Roque Nublo you need the booking.


💡 Useful Tips

  • Go at dawn or dusk: the colours are incredible and it is less hot.
  • Wear walking shoes: the terrain is rocky and can be slippery.
  • Bring water and a snack: there are no bars or drinking fountains. Often, however, you can find a stall at the beginning of the path selling typical island products.
  • Don't forget the camera

The Roque Nublo is also located along the Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria, path that crosses the island from south to north. Perfect for those who love walking, discovering and being in the midst of nature.
