TEJEDA: A SMALL VILLAGE IN THE MOUNTAINS OF GRAN CANARIA
Tejeda is located in the interior of the island, surrounded by mountains and spectacular landscapes. Its one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Its white houses, cobbled streets and views of Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga make it a peaceful and authentic place, far from the more touristy coastline.
One of the best times to visit is between January and February, when the almond trees are in bloom and the whole landscape is coloured white and pink.

- Bienmesabe: a sweet cream made with almonds, honey and sugar, perfect with ice cream.
- Mazapanes and polvorones: soft and crumbly sweets, excellent with a coffee.
All desserts are handmade with local ingredients.
📍 How to get there
By car: About 1 hour from Las Palmas, along the GC-15a scenic road through the mountains.
By bus: Direct connections from Las Palmas, although a car is the best way to explore the area.
On Foot: Starting point for spectacular hikes to Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga.
Tejeda is perfect for a different outing, away from the sea, where you can discover another side of Gran Canaria made of nature, silence and traditions.
